STEP2LIFE — FATIGUE MANAGEMENT & RECOVERY

  • Not everything at once.

  • Not according to someone else's timetable.

  • One meaningful step at a time.

A structured, personalized process to help you understand your fatigue, rebuild confidence and gradually make room for life again.

When you have lived with fatigue for a long time, the problem often becomes much bigger than simply wanting “more energy.”

You may have stopped doing things because you do not know what they will cost you afterwards.

You may want to exercise again but not trust your body enough to start.

You may miss seeing friends but worry you will not manage the outing.

You may still be working, but using almost everything you have just to get through the day.

Or perhaps you have become so used to protecting your energy that you no longer know what you could realistically begin doing again.

STEP2LIFE starts there.

It gives us the time and structure to understand your fatigue, identify what matters most and gradually work towards meaningful parts of life you want to regain.

HOW STEP2LIFE WORKS

1. UNDERSTAND

We start with your story.

We look at your fatigue history, relevant clinical information, what has changed over time and where you are today.

The aim is not to make you repeat your story endlessly.

It is to make sense of it.

3. PRIORITIZE

Because you cannot work on everything at once.

Fatigue can affect sleep, movement, work, relationships, confidence, social life, enjoyment and independence.

Trying to fix every area at the same time can become another source of exhaustion.

Together, we identify:

What matters most now?

What needs attention first?

What can wait?

5. REBUILD CONFIDENCE

Because fatigue can change more than your energy.

After enough difficult experiences, you can start losing confidence in what your body can manage.

You may think:

What if I cannot cope?

What if I feel worse tomorrow?

What if I get stuck somewhere and cannot get home?

We work with these fears.

The aim is not to convince you that nothing will happen.

It is to help you develop greater confidence in understanding your limits, making informed choices and responding to what happens.

7. MAKE PROGRESS SUSTAINABLE

The goal is not one good day.

It is to help you understand yourself well enough to make increasingly confident and sustainable choices.

Over time, the focus can begin to move from:

“Can I do this?”

towards:

“I understand what I need in order to approach this.”

That shift can gradually create more confidence, independence and room to participate in your own life again.

2. MAP

We identify your current capacity and patterns.

What uses your energy?

What seems to support it?

When does fatigue worsen?

What can you currently sustain?

What activities have become difficult, unpredictable or frightening?

Understanding your starting point helps us make better decisions about what comes next.

4. RE-ENGAGE

We gradually work towards the things you want back in your life.

Perhaps that means:

  • cooking again

  • going for a walk

  • driving

  • seeing friends

  • participating more in family life

We do not jump from “I can't do this” to “I must do it again.”

We look for the smallest realistic version that fits your current capacity. Then we observe. We learn. We adjust. And when appropriate, we build from there.

6. LEARN FROM EXPERIENCE

Progress is not pass or fail.

When we try something new, we ask:

What did you expect would happen?

What actually happened?

What did you learn?

Perhaps the step was manageable.

Perhaps it needs to be smaller.

Perhaps your body needs more recovery time than expected.

Perhaps you managed more than you thought you could.

Every experience gives us information.

We don't assume. We learn and adjust.
